Welcome back

Hi again! Today I’m beginning the second part of my blog. Definitely I’m starting to hate it. I have exhausted all my ideas, and I’m not very good at writing in English. But well, I will try to do my best.

Like the last semester, I should have begun so much earlier, but I never think about the blog, and when I think about it I didn’t fancy like writing. Nevertheless, I still have time to complete my blog without so much stress.
So here is the second part of my blog, I hope you don’t get too much bored… (100)

Bye

This will be the last time I write on the blog. There are very few words left to the 4000 I have to write. It could be that I have enjoyed so much writing on this blog that maybe I will write even when finish it, but I’m quite sure that won’t be the case. Anyway, I hope you won’t get very bored reading this blog, but I didn’t know what to say, and at the end I didn’t have more ideas, but here they are, 4000 words!! (88)

Stress...

Exams are very near. I don’t know if I will be able to prepare them very well. Until now, I have been doing all the homework (and I haven’t finished yet…), so I didn’t have much time to study. It’s a bit depressing and stressing, now that I realize that I haven’t got time to do all I have to do. I have the English exam this Monday, and I have studied almost nothing. I hope this weekend I will be an effort and be more studious than usual.
But English exam is not what bother me the most. I know it is difficult, but I have been studying English for many years and I have some resources. But German and linguistics are a bit different. I have never studied German before, and the teacher has already explained 9 lessons this semester. It was too fast for me. I couldn’t catch all the things that the teacher explained, and now I have to study 9 lessons alone. But I think I’m a bit lucky when I think about other people that don’t go to the Official Language School like me. At least, I have a way to review some things.
I have never lived Christmas like this. They used to be two week to rest, disconnect from the routine, be with the family and eat until you can’t even move a finger; but now they are boring. I have to do homework every day and if a day I can do nothing for whatever reason, the next day I have to do the double. Well, this is the student life. It has some advantages and some disadvantages. I suppose very few people will be absolutely happy with his job or the career he is studying. Well, it’s time to study. I will have enough time to rest after the exams. (311)

New Year

Today I will talk about New Year’s Eve, because it’s the most important event of recent days (and maybe the most important of all the year too).  This is a day (and night of course) to be with friends or family, it’s a day to eat like you hadn’t eat in a month, and above all, it’s a day to dance and have fun!

My friends and I went to Vilafamés, a town near Castelló, because one of our friends has a house there where we could stay. We went there on Friday morning, but before we met at the supermarket and we bought all the things that we could need. Furthermore, everyone brought something from his house, so we didn’t have too many things and cook them. All the people brought something for the dinner, but I was responsible for bringing things for the breakfast and picnic, so I took chocolate cupcakes and “Chips Ahoy” –I know it isn’t very original, is it? But I have to say that it was what people ate the most.
Since I have memory I have gone to my town Xodos with my parents (I wrote about it some days before). But now that I am getting older I prefer going with my friends. But even going with my friends, I have always had some kind of favoritism for small towns. Some people prefer spending New Year’s Eve in big cities and going to big discos. But I like much more the ambience that there is in towns. It’s like you know all the people there and you can laugh and dance with them. Another thing to keep in mind is that big discos are very expensive, meanwhile small orchestras are free and you can go home whenever you want. I don’t mind to spend more money this night, but not if I can have the same (or even more) fun without wasting it. Well, now I will tell you more or less what is what I did this special night.

When we got home, we chose a room and dropped the luggage. Then we played cards and watched TV until it was time to dinner. We were eleven people to eat at the house, but still some food remained at the table. When we finished, it was time to eat the twelve grapes. We ate them, congratulated each other and some of us dressed up and played with the cotillion. Then, we went to the town square, where the dance was, and we spent there the rest of the night. We did lots of photos, but unfortunately I lost my camera. I realized that I had lost it the next day, when I was going to watch them and I saw that I only had the cover of the camera. I felt very disgusted, and I thought that my parents were going to kill me.
We spent there the rest of the weekend. Now I remember how it was the Saturday and it makes me laugh. We were so tired that we could barely move, and we were all the day lying on the sofa and watching TV. We came back on Sunday morning, just in time to have lunch at home.
It was a very funny weekend, and I would like it to last longer, but now it is time stay home and study hard for the exams. I wish you all a happy new year and good luck with the exams (I think we will need it :S). (588)

My village

Xodos is a small village located in the region of Alcalaten. It has about two hundred habitants. It has been built up on a huge rock, with a small castle on the top of it. It’s very beautiful to see this, especially when it has snowed and it’s covered with a white layer. It is located aver 1000 above the sea level, so it snows frequently. Well, now with the climate change it is strange to see it snowed, but some years ago it was always white at winter.
It has very beautiful views: it’s all green there, and the Penyagolosa (the second higher mountain in Spain) is very close. You can stay at rural houses or you can rent a room in one of the two hotels (restaurants with rooms) there are in the village. The food of one of these restaurants is extremely good. The food is home cooking, and they cook things like paella, soup, “tombet” (a typical plate from there). I enjoy eating roast meat until I am about to explode. The basic menu is first plate, second plate, deserts and café. But if you hadn’t ate enough with the things they have served you (what I doubt), you can ask for as many food as you want. I don’t know if the other restaurant is as good as this because I have never gone there.
There are many routs to make excursions, and all of them very beautiful. Maybe the most known is going the sanctuary of Penyagolosa and take a break to eat and rest there, and then continue the journey to the top of Penyagolosa. It is a very long and tiring excursion, but I recommend everyone to make it even once in life.During the year is a very calm and relaxing place. You can go there at weekends and all the stress will leave you.
But when I like it the most is in summer, because of the atmosphere that is all over the village: everyone is in the streets, children play and run , the eldest people sit outside and talk with the others. But the best of it is the bar. Almost all the village goes there to meet the others, play cards and talk. I also enjoy a lot going to the swimming pool, where all the young people usually is. I’m really happy at this moment of the year. And then there come the village festivals. They are in mid-August and last for a week. The first day is only for races and contests and, of course, dancing at night. The best day, of course, is Saturday. I always invite some friends to come and it’s even funnier.
Well, I have told you a bit of my village. I am sure I could have said more, but I now I don’t know what more to say and I am a bit tired of this blog, so I will see you another day. I hope you have enjoyed this, and if you want to know more about it I encourage you to come and visit it, I will be waiting you^^. (532)

Rural house

Some days ago I was living at a really fantastic place located in “La Vera”, a region very close to Caceres. Its name was “Valvellodos” and it was in the middle of a really huge valley. “Valvellodos” is like a “country house-hotel-farm” where you can spend a really relaxing time.
From the outside, the house looks picturesque and big. There are lots of animals around the house such as horses, cows, pigs and sheep. You can go with the animals and touch them if you want to. The children of the family can have a really great time while the elders are having a cup of coffee at the bar. The views are really much “greener” than they are in Castelló and it makes you feel better. The house has lots of rooms where a lot of people can live at the same time. There is a quiet bar next to a big dinning room where its smell caries you into a fantastic world. Although the rooms are a bit small, they are big enough. We spent most of the time at the house, but we also visited other towns and made some excursions.
I liked that house because it was really calm, beautiful and lovely. Some people prefer going to big cities and saying at luxurious hotels, but from my point of view it is much better going to places like this, where you can stay calmly and enjoying the views you have. I also love that kind of houses: rural houses that are extremely homely. I have been thinking about it and I would like to live in a place like that when I am older. It is a bit depressing when you return home, at the stressing daily routing, after spending some days in a place like that, where the time seems to stop. (309)
